What is the best time of year to visit Frutillar?

 

Frutillar can offer visitors a diverse range of activities and services at any time of year. Winter is the perfect season for appreciating the beauty of the snowy peaks of the volcanoes and enjoying a day of skiing at the Osorno Volcano Mountain Center, Antillanca Winter Center, Pucón Ski Center, or, crossing the mountains, Cerro Catedral in San Carlos de Bariloche or Cerro Bayo in Villa La Angostura. You can also enjoy the cultural programs offered by the Lake Theater (www.teatrodellago.cl).

During the summer, you can participate in all sorts of outdoor activities, such as sailing, hiking, horseback riding, salmon fishing, birdwatching or simple walking.

In the spring and fall, visitors can observe the colors unfolding in nature in this beautiful city. It is an ideal time to hold events and conventions.

 

How can I get to Frutillar from anywhere in the world?

 

One of the outstanding aspects of this city is its accessibility. Located 65 kilometers south of Osorno and 45 kilometers north of Puerto Montt, it can be reached by land, air or sea.

By land: on Highway 5 South.

By air: the El Tepual International Airport in Puerto Montt is located 55 kilometers away, while the Cañal Bajo airport in Osorno is 65 kilometers away. Both are connected with Highway 5 South, which connects them to Frutillar.

By sea: Frutillar can be accessed from any city in the world traveling by sea to Puerto Montt, which is located 46 kilometers from the city.

Towards the southern part of the country, temperatures drop around 1°C for every 150 meters of altitude in the Andes, resulting in a Mediterranean climate. In this area, the average temperature reaches 20.6°C in summer, while dropping to 8°C average in the winter.
